De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek Selects Sirsi

Press Release: SIRSI Corporation [May 22, 2002]

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands — May 2002 — De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, one of the largest law firms in the Netherlands, has chosen Sirsi Corporation's Unicorn® Library Management System for its three libraries in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. Unicorn will provide access to Intranet online public access services, cataloguing, authority control, circulation, acquisitions, serials control, and classified accountability for controlling access to sensitive documents.

The libraries at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek supply the information needs of more than 400 lawyers, notaries, and tax specialists. The libraries offer the largest private juridical collection within the Netherlands.

Head of Library Services Eric van der Klugt commented, “We looked at different library automation systems and chose Unicorn for the excellence of its Web interface and integration of full text documents. We also found the WorkFlows modules easy to navigate and maintain. In addition, Sirsi has a good reputation for user support.”

Sirsi (www.sirsi.com) recognizes that today's librarians are on a mission to break down walls - barriers that limit the knowledge and resources accessible to library users. A partner with leading libraries around the globe since 1979, Sirsi provides software and services that assist libraries in breaking down walls, thereby promoting learning, empowerment, and opportunity for diverse user communities.
