Brodart Automation announces the release of the newest version of the Precision One Cataloging System. The new release will include enhancements to the card and label printing capabilities, as well as to the online help feature. Along with those improvements, Brodart Automation will release a hard drive version of Precision One Cataloging System that will be delivered via CD. Librarians will now be able to access Precision One Cataloging System via the Internet or directly from their hard drive. The Internet version, which was released a year ago and is housed at Brodart, is accessed through the Internet and is updated on a monthly basis. The new features will be available for both the Internet version and hard drive version. Both versions will also have capability of functioning on a network or being used as a standalone product.
Precision One Cataloging System is an extensive resource database of over two million MARC records, which include records from the Library of Congress. It provides cataloging templates for all material types, allows records to be saved to a personal workfile for easy retrieval for editing, as well as the ability to automatically generate control numbers. Precision One Cataloging System is also compatible with all major library automation systems.
