Digital object library products
[October 15, 2001]
Abstract: From the introduction: Building digital collections has become a widespread activity in virtually all academic libraries. The Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University is in the midst of incorporating digital content and services into the resources available to our patrons within the larger context of the library. Some large academic libraries are building their own digital library systems or co-partnering with a vendor to create one, whereas, the majority of libraries would not have the resources to build and support their own systems. This article will review the Lee Library''s criteria and requirements for a digital library management system, the vendor products currently available, and our selection to accommodate our growing digital collections."
