CLCD Company, LLC teams with Sirsi to provide reviews through iBistro: alliance makes locating quality children's materials a breeze

Press Release: SIRSI Corporation [January 18, 2002]

BETHESDA, Md. – Jan. 18, 2002 – The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database Company, LLC (CLCD) and Sirsi Corporation today announced an alliance to integrate reviews of contemporary children's books into Sirsi's iBistro Electronic Library for public, school, and other libraries.

The agreement will provide iBistro users with access to CLCD's 70,000-plus reviews of children's books and non-book materials from 19 recognized review sources. Whether in the library or at home or the office, users can search their library's iBistro e-Library for children's materials by the author or title or on the subject of their choice. If the results list contains books in the CLCD database, users can read the associated reviews by simply clicking on the iBistro bibliographic record. Sirsi updates iBistro monthly with CLCD's 1,000 latest reviews of newly published children's books.

Marilyn Courtot, CLCD President noted, "The CLCD was established with the intent to make it easy for anyone involved with children to locate the best available materials. By teaming with Sirsi to supply CLCD reviews through iBistro, CLCD will provide a whole new audience of adults with the resources to select high-quality materials for the children entrusted to their care."

Laura Dawson, Sirsi's director of content development, commented, "Sirsi is delighted to provide parents, teachers, caregivers, and anyone else concerned with selecting quality children's materials with easy online access to this premier database. The ability to view CLCD reviews will enable iBistro users to make appropriate literary choices for the children in their lives and to stay informed about what's new in the world of quality children's materials."
