ICL Invia Denmark, the exclusive distributor of Ex Libris products in Scandinavia, has received an order from the Luleċ University of Technology in Sweden to replace its current BIBDIA system with the latest version of ALEPH 500.
The Luleċ site will become ALEPH`s most northerly installation, with branch libraries of the university situated above the Arctic Circle. The new system will provide students and researchers with a state-of-the-art Internet-based catalog of both electronic and printed resources. In addition, ALEPH will offer direct access to published knowledge on a scale far greater than what is available at the present time.
Luleċ University of Technology is the only technology university in Sweden with such a broad range of educational and research programs. With approximately 11,300 students and a staff of 1,400, the university provides studies in engineering, the social sciences, the humanities, education, health sciences, music, media education, and drama. Besides the main campus in Luleċ, campuses are also located in Piteċ, Kiruna, Boden, and Skellefteċ.
