Dordrecht Public Library have gone live with Concerto™ - BiblioMondo™’s library automation system - and have officially opened their modernised Central branch on December 15th 2001.
Dordrecht Public Library have been using ProBiblio’s IT services and are now an independent authority running its own library system to build regional services.
Dordrecht are implementing the latest Concerto™ suite, including Internet access to its catalogue with built-in Z39.50 links to external catalogues. Patrons are using PIN secured self check functions via the OPAC and the Internet. Digital media are available in the Concerto OPAC.
BiblioMondo™ have supplied a turn-key IT solution for complete office automation, and the replacement of all PCs and servers. Dordrecht are equipped with advanced Fujitsu Siemens Computers hardware comprising of elegant TFT screens for issue and return desks creating a very professional image. The Dordrecht branches are linked to the Central branch via very fast ADSL lines, and a high bandwidth link is catering to Internet and other database access.

Dordrecht are researching self-check station implementation options, as offered by companies like 3M or Kno-Tech, to be linked onto the Concerto™ system.
Dordrecht will closely work with neighbouring libraries to start the Drechtsteden project.
