Axis Communications CD/DVD Miniservers

[August 22, 2001]

Abstract: Sharing CD-ROMs or DVD-ROMs among a workgroup needn''t be complex or expensive. Axis miniservers are hardware devices with embedded software that let the user establish a CD/DVD network with minimal effort and with minimal help from network administrators. Axis uses the same ThinServer Technology--for a variety of easily installed network-attached peripherals, such as printers, scanners, and cameras. With advanced features such as magnetic disk caching, fast network interfaces, and efficient processors found in the StorPoint CD E100, Axis miniservers can support all but the largest groups of users. Axis'' flagship StorPoint CD E100 products are purchased mostly as part of CD/DVD tower units sold by integrators and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
