Syracuse, N.Y.— Gaylord Information Systems announced it has expanded its sales force in order to better serve existing and potential customers and to accommodate company sales growth.
According to Marty Keeley, vice president of marketing and sales, an additional Polaris sales account manager, Lewis R. Maurer, has joined the staff of the software automation company to cover the northeast states of Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Polaris account manager Cheryl Crosby will assume responsibility for the states of New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana and Michigan.
“Gaylord Information Systems is positioning itself to be the market leader in automation systems serving the public library market,” stated Keeley. “Our Polaris software is the best in the industry, and we are increasing our sales force in order to better respond to the interest we are receiving from libraries.”
Maurer most recently worked as trainer, project manager and research librarian at the Silicon Valley, Bay Area and Peninsula Library Systems in San Mateo, Ca. Prior to that, he served as sales account executive for The Gale Group in Michigan, as key account manager II at OCLC Online Computer Library Center in Ohio, and as branch manager and adult services librarian at Columbus Metropolitan Library in Ohio.
Maurer has an undergraduate degree from Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania, and a master's degree in information studies from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He will reside in the Philadelphia area.
