Brodart Automation today announced their first US installation of Amlib in their home state of Pennsylvania. DuBois Public Library installed the Australian developed library management software, Amlib, on June 29th.
The 50,000 record library migrated from Brodart's DOS software, Precision One Integrated System to the Windows Client/Server application with minimal downtime. Leah Green, Director of the DuBois Public Library stated "The ease of conversion to the new system surprised me. Our catalog and current patron and circulation records were extracted, and we stayed open using our old system. We closed our doors to the public one-day for staff training. We held a subsequent training for our technical librarian and we were up and running with minimal confusion."
Brodart Automation recently announced their business partnership with InfoVision Technology, the developer of the Amlib Software. Brodart is offering the system to their school, public, academic and special library customers and future customers in the US and Canada. While new to the USA, the product has over 150 installations of the exclusively Windows based product since 1994 in Australia. Amlib provides libraries the following features: acquisitions, authority control, Z39.50 server, report generator, OPAC, item maintenance, web catalog, interlibrary loan, serials control, self-checkout, community information, and facility booking
