Comstow Information Services announces the delivery of its 26th BiblioTech PRO information resource management system to the Aegis Data Center at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Virginia. BiblioTech PRO was developed as a successor to BiblioTech, Comstow's VAX-based product, which is still installed at more than twenty organizations in North America.
First released in October. 1996, BiblioTech PRO is currently operational at customer sites on: NT-server on Intel and DEC Alpha, SUN Solaris (UNIX), Open VMS, Novell NetWare, and HP-UX, all in a client-server environment with graphical interface clients.
BiblioTech PRO offers high-end functionality at mid-range pricing. Its modular and fully integrated design, coupled with concurrent user pricing allows libraries to start as low as a two-user license and grow to an unlimited number of users as need dictates. The Basic system comprises the Cataloging/Indexing, Thesaurus Development, and GUI-based searching modules. Optional modules include Tracking, Serials Management, Acquisitions/Accounting as well as Upload options from many protocols including N4ARC, NTIS and Dialog. A WEB interface for searching is also available. Both GUI and WEB interfaces support hot-links to any internal or external electronic resource.
