DRA offers format integration support

Library Systems Newsletter [November 1995]

Data Research Associates, Inc., (DRA) has announced that it has released Version 2.4-2 of its Data Research System, including support for new format integration changes to the MARC record. Because DRA's release of this version is in advance of the changes, DRA customers will have sufficient time to prepare prior to receiving actual records.

Format integration has been introduced by the Library of Congress to simplify cataloging and informational display for all types of materials. In addition to many other features, it offers a new 006 field in the MARC record, which describes material characteristics for supplementary pieces. DRA's support for format integration provides users with a menu from which the 006 field can be generated.

In addition to format integration capabilities, Version 2.4-2 provides DRA customers with a number of requested functionality enhancements.
