CBIS announces CD Connection version 3.0

Library Systems Newsletter [October 1993]

CBIS, Inc., has announced version 3.0 of its CD Connection software. After completing benchmarking, the company claims that CD Connection Version 3.0 is twice as fast as its earlier release and provides the fastest performance of any CD-ROM sharing system in the industry. The substantially increased throughput of CD Connection is achieved through optimization of the software routines to take advantage of new technologies including cooperative multi-tasking and advanced caching algorithms.

CD Connection Version 3.0 supports all leading networks including Novell NetWare, Banyan Vines, CBIS' Network-OS Plus, and all NetBIOS-compatible LAN5. Version 3.0 can be used in conjunction with customers existing hardware equipment, or with CBIS' line of dedicated CD Servers or add-on PC Conversion Towers.

CD Connection software Version 3.0 is available direct from CBIS and through resellers for a suggested retail price of $695 for a 10 concurrent user license; $995 for a 50 concurrent user license; $1,395 for a 100 concurrent user license; and, $1,995 for a 250 concurrent user license.
