Ovid reaches 300 title goal

Library Systems Newsletter [July 1999]

Ovid Technologies, Inc., an online reference service specializing in STM (science, technology, and medicine) titles has reached its goal of 300 full-text journal titles. In fact, the figure is rapidly climbing toward 350. The titles encompass over 13,000 issues published over the past six years. Given the scope of the database and the widely differing needs of libraries, Ovid has introduced a new flexible pricing program that allows a library to decide whether it wants access to all of the titles or to as few as two. A library which subscribes to only some of the journal titles is provided access to the table of contents of all of the titles.

The service, which is designated Journals@Ovid, provides links among titles and from a number of bibliographic databases.
