ST. CHARLES, MO - Pigasus Software, Inc. is pleased to announce that Pfizer Central Research, located in Groton, Connecticut, has purchased the Wings Request Management System for their document delivery and interlibrary loan needs.
The Wings Request Management System is ideal for corporate libraries because it handles interlibrary loan, document delivery, and resource-sharing in one management package. Contrary to popular belief, interlibrary loan is not just for students completing term papers. Many businesses use specialized information resources beyond the holdings of their own corporate libraries.
Resource sharing requires communication with many different institutions using many different communication formats (fax, email, proprietary, etc.). The Wings system supports a variety of communications protocols used in the ILL community, including ISO 10160/10161 and ERP (the Extended Request Protocol). In addition, it can communicate with proprietary systems such as DOCLINE and OCLC.
Candy Bogar Zemon, president of Pigasus Software, Inc., said, "We are very pleased to see our Wings software being used in one of the well-known companies in the pharmaceutical industry. The Wings system handles many library request management needs, including the heavy document delivery services provided by many corporate libraries. We are happy to contribute to the level of service which Pfizer provides its researchers."
Other Pigasus Software customers include the University of California at Los Angeles, Relais International located in Ottawa, Canada, and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center Libraries.
