Another prestigious British campus chooses ALEPH 500

Press Release: Ex Libris [March 15, 2000]

Ex Libris (UK) Ltd. is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract with Royal Holloway, University of London, to license and implement ALEPH 500 at the school's libraries. ALEPH 500 will replace the current LIBERTAS system.

Royal Holloway, University of London, is ranked among Britain's top academic institutions. It has earned a world-class reputation for high-quality research in the humanities, sciences, and performing arts. The beautiful campus at Egham, just 19 miles from the center of London, offers an outstanding learning environment to over 6,000 students hailing from Britain and 80 other countries.

Says Sarah Gerrard, Head Librarian, "We wanted a business partnership with the company of our choice, and Ex-Libris demonstrated a willingness to listen and to incorporate our comments into their future plans. ALEPH applies the potential of modern technology to traditional library thinking."

According to Marc Daubach, managing director of Ex Libris (UK) Ltd., this agreement represents the eighth major ALEPH 500 installation in the British Isles since the opening of the Ex Libris office in London in mid-1998.

The system marketed by Ex Libris, called ALEPH, is now in over 500 installations with more than 17,000 concurrent users in 41 countries. Ex Libris is a multi-national company with offices located around the world.
