St. Louis, Missouri, April 19, 1994 -- Data Research Associates, Inc. (NASDAQ:DRAI) announced today that earnings per share for its second quarter of 1994, which ended March 31, were 10 cents, compared with 16 cents in the same period in fiscal 1993. Revenues for the second quarter of fiscal 1994 increased 1% to $5.54 million, compared to $5.48 million in the same period a year ago.
"These second quarter results represent no fundamental change in Data Research's fiscal 1994 business prospects. Our bid activity is high and we maintain a good volume of contracts in negotiation," said Michael J. Mellinger, President and Chief Executive Officer. "In addition, we are enthusiastic about the expansion in overseas sales reflected in this quarter, as well as a new system sale recorded by our newly acquired INLEX division."
Data Research, headquartered in St. Louis, is a leading systems integrator, providing its own proprietary information services software as well as third-party software and hardware, networking services and other related services to libraries and other information providers.
