POMONA, Calif., March 23, 1999. Two new sales executives have been named to the staff of Auto-Graphics Inc. (OTCBB:AUGR), a leading provider of Web-based PAC, cataloging and interlibrary loan services to libraries.
Julie Pitcher and Christine Kirby will be responsible for sales for libraries and library consortia using Auto-Graphics' Impact/MARCit, Impact/TRACEitTM, AVISOTM and the full suite of Impact/ONLINETM system software for sharing library resources via the Web.
Both Pitcher and Kirby bring extensive library automation experience to their new positions at Auto-Graphics. "We're looking forward to the expertise Julie and Christine will contribute as we move forward in expanding our broad range of Web-based services and optimizing our business opportunities in electronic information-sharing, including our Z39.50 services and our new AG GatewayTM product that is currently in development," said Bill Kliss, chief operating officer. AG Gateway will be used as a standalone product or in conjunction with Impact/ONLINE and centralizes a variety of library functions including Z39.50 management and access to reference databases the library makes available on the Web, said Kliss.
Most recently a regional manager for Ameritech Library Services, Pitcher was also formerly with Dynix Automated Library Systems. Pitcher's library automation experience also includes experience as media department head for the Library-Media Center in Cache County, Utah, where she served as project manager responsible for automating the library media centers of the county's 22 schools. She holds a bachelor's degree in english/instructional technology and library science from Utah State University, and is currently working towards a master's degree in training and development at Utah State University.
Kirby's experience includes information services sales positions with Gaylord Information Systems, Ameritech Library Systems and OCLC/Local Systems Division. Kirby has also served as special services consultant for the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and the Florida State Library. Earlier, Kirby held a variety of librarian positions with a number of local libraries including the Orlando Public Library, as well as New York State Library. Kirby holds a master's degree in library science and a bachelor's degree in english from State University of New York at Albany.
