Press Release: Auto-Graphics, Inc. [April 1, 1999]

POMONA, Calif., April 1, 1999. Two executives have been named to key management positions at Auto-Graphics Inc. (OTCBB:AUGR), a leading provider of library Web-based PAC, cataloging and interlibrary loan services to libraries.

The company today announced the appointment of David W. Bates, formerly North American sales manager, to the newly created position of manager of business development. Albert Flores, a ten-year veteran of the company, was named to the North American sales manager post. Both executives report to William J. Kliss, chief operating officer.

"New business development and high-impact sales efforts are vital as we move forward to expand our industry-leading Web-based services and optimize our business opportunities in electronic information-sharing," said Kliss. "Both David and Albert will contribute their experience, skills and management strengths and will allow us to take another strategic step in that direction."

Bates is an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience on both the vendor and client sides. Prior to being named national sales manager for Auto-Graphics in June of 1998, he was national sales director at Ameritech Library Services, a major vendor of library automation systems. Bates began his career as director of the North Adams Public Library in Massachusetts following graduation from the University of South Florida with a master's degree in Library Science.

Flores has over 10 years of software sales and customer service expertise and joined Auto-Graphics in 1988 as project coordinator/system librarian. He has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility at the company, including project manager/systems administrator, regional sales representative and most recently, sales manager. During his tenure, Flores was responsible for major Auto-Graphics customer accounts and completed several of the largest Impact/ONLINE™ sales in the company's history.
