ALEPH at the Universidad del Valle de Mexico

Press Release: Ex Libris [December 27, 1999]

Systemas Logicos, Ex Libris`s exclusive distributor in Mexico, is pleased to announce that the Universidad del Valle de Mexico (UVM) has chosen ALEPH 500 to equip the libraries of its 14 campuses in Mexico City and other locations around the country. The UVM site represents the 18th Ex Libris installation in Mexico.

Founded in 1960, UVM currently numbers over 29,000 registered students. One of the major private academic institutions of the country, it confers high school diplomas, bachelor`s degrees, and master`s degrees.

Mr. Daniel Moreno, director of the UVM library system, commented, "The most important factor in favor of ALEPH is its very modern architecture, which will enable us to offer our users an efficient OPAC and will let us build and maintain a union catalog for the 14 libraries in the net. The fact that our patrons will be able to access electronic documents and all kind of multimedia information through the OPAC influenced our decision greatly."

ALEPH will be installed on a single server and will be accessed simultaneously from the 14 libraries across the country, thanks to an extremely rapid, efficient network.
