Huntsville, Alabama - Sirsi Corporation is pleased to announce that its Unicorn Collection Management System will be installed at the Alexandrian Public Library.
Planned for installation on an IBM RISC System/6000 Model 340 host computer, Alexandrian's system will include the acquisitions, authority control, bibliographic and inventory control, circulation control, and enhanced researchers access modules. Karen Cook, Coordinator of Technical Services, cited three main reasons for Alexandrian's selection of the UNICORN system. "First UNICORN is very well integrated, while other vendors only claim to have integrated systems. Second, the OPAC is extremely simple-to-use, yet very sophisticated. Finally, we were very concerned about customer support, and we heard walk-on-water testimonials about SIRSI's customer support."
Founded in 1895 in Mt Vernon, Indiana, the Alexandrian Public Library exists to help meet the informational, educational, and recreational needs of over 22,000 residents of Black, Marrs, Robinson, Lynn, and Point Townships.
