Huntsville, AL (May 3, 1996) - Bebo White, a computational physicist at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), Stanford University, will be speaking at the 1996 International SIRSI Users Group Conference (ISUG) May 13, in Huntsville, AL. His address will focus on the World Wide Web, its origin and history, and current and future developments. Associated with the World Wide Web since its inception at CERN and included in the CERN History of the Web, White's experiences provide valuable insight on this timely topic.
ISUG attendees have a strong interest in the Internet and especially the World Wide Web, which has more potential for delivering interactive information than any other software technology. White's research interests include computational physics, high energy physics, networked information retrieval, programming languages, and technology in K-12 education. White is a regular guest on the HEXonX Computer Hour and Pseudo Radio. He serves as Co-chair for the SLAC Web Users Group (SWUG) and as Post Committee Chair for the SLAC Explorer Post #3095. White's newest book, "HTML and the Art of Authoring for the World Wide Web," is soon to be released.
