St. Louis, Missouri -- August 1, 1996: Data Research Associates Inc. (NASDAQ: DRAI) announced today that it had signed a contract with the University of British Columbia for a turnkey (hardware and software) library automation system valued at approximately $C850,000 (US$600,000). Initial revenue shipments from the contract were expected to begin in the company's fiscal fourth quarter, which ends September 30.
Located in Vancouver, the University of British Columbia is one of the largest universities in Canada and a member of the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), a prestigious organization comprising approximately 120 of the largest libraries in North America. The University of British Columbia is the thirteenth ARL member to join DRA as a customer.
