St. Louis, MO -- Data Research Associates, Inc. (DRA) (Nasdaq: DRAI) today confirmed that the Library Planning Task Force of the State of Minnesota's Higher Education Services Office has voted to proceed with negotiations on a formal contract to install DRA's Taos product as the automation system portion of the Minnesota Library Information Network (MnLINK) project. The total value of the contract is subject to negotiations and to the ultimate number of libraries who elect to participate in the project.
MnLINK is an online library information network that will link public, academic, state government and school libraries throughout Minnesota. The automation system portion of the project will replace the University of Minnesota's online system and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities online system, as well as including state government libraries, private college libraries, and public and K-12 school library media centers choosing to participate. Further information on the project can be found at the MnLINK web site, http://www.heso.state.mn.us/www/mnlink/MNLINK.htm.
Although it is DRA's ongoing policy not to announce new business until a contract has been signed, information regarding this selection was recently included in the content of postings on the Internet. The company said that the timing of initial shipments from the contract would be subject to the completion of negotiations, and in accordance with company policy, no further details would be released until the contract was executed.
