St. Louis, MO, September 23, 1998 - Data Research Associates, Inc. (DRA) today announced that it has signed a contract valued at more than $1.3 million with the Cobb County Public Library System, located in the state of Georgia, for installation of the DRA Classic system.
Cobb County Library was founded in 1958 and up to this point has used a homegrown library automation system to perform acquisitions, cataloging and circulation functions for its nearly 800,000 item collection. In choosing DRA, Library Director Gail E. Rogers said, "Cobb County Public Library is looking toward the future of library automation. What most impressed us is that DRA is ahead of the vendors we looked at indepth in being ready to present the next-generation system."
One notable aspect of this contract calls for hardware and software to be completely outsourced and run from DRA’s St. Louis office. The contract also lays the groundwork for installation of the DRA next-generation library automation system, Taos.
