SALT LAKE CITY, UT, January 26, 1999 — COMPanion Corporation announced today that Alexandria, COMPanion's school library automation software, was chosen by the British Columbia Ministry as one of two top library systems preferred by the ministry, Alexandria was the only non-Canadian product chosen.
The B.C. Ministry of Education just concluded a lengthy evaluation of library automation vendors in the U.S. and Canada. The ministry has been evaluating systems for over a year, trying to make the decision process easier for its schools. Alexandria was selected as one of two library automation products for provincial licensing agreements in British Columbia.
COMPanion Corporation is currently negotiating pricing for software and product support with the B.C. Ministry. Details of the Alexandria licensing agreement will be communicated to the K-12 system as soon as both parties have secured the best pricing for software and support.
