WLN introduces WebLN PAC

Library Systems Newsletter [June 1998]

WLN, which has completed the roll-out of its new automated system, introduced a new service this month: WebLN PAC, a Web-based patron access catalog for a consortium or an individual library. The database would be resident on the WLN system but names, graphics, displays, help screens, searches, and indexes would be customized to meet local requirements. The library consortium or library only needs to provide Web browser software and Internet access. Subscriptions to simultaneous log-ons and the size of the database will be the basis for pricing. The service is intended to compete not only with other online union catalog services, but also CD-ROM-based union catalogs.
