Data Trek, Inc. has introduced the Manager Series for Schools, an upgrade to its School Series text-based library automation system. The Manager Series for Schools draws upon the Manager Series, Data Trek's MARC-compatible software product line. A specially designed package, the Manager Series for Schools includes the three modules most popular with 1Q12 school libraries-Cataloging, Circulation, and EasySearch (student OPAC). The Manager Series for Schools is free to those customers with active software support contracts.
The Manager Series for Schools retains the integrated menu and the school-friendly default setup and has been enhanced with pull-down picklists and browsing capability. Additional features found in the Manager Series for Schools include variable field lengths, user-definable field names, ability to specify end dates for circulation due dates, context sensitive help, and multiple database capability.
Upgrading to the Manager Series for Schools will enable Data Trek's School Series clients to further tailor their systems by adding modules such as Manager Series Serials, Acquisitions, Databridge, OPAC, GoPAC (Graphical OPAC), ImageLink, Report Generator, and Audio/Visual Handler. School libraries will also be able to migrate to Windows technology by taking advantage of Data Trek's special conversion offer to the Graphical Library Automation System (GLAS) for Schools, Data Trek's newly introduced Windows-based library automation system.
