Albuquerque public schools chooses Athena for its libraries

Library Systems Newsletter [July 1995]

The Albuquerque Public Schools, the nation's 28th largest school district, has selected the Athena library system from Nichols Advanced Technologies, Inc., for its 125 school and district libraries.

Athena's graphical Windows-based interface fulfills the district's need for friendly and easy-to-use searching and circulating functions. As some schools in the district use Macintosh computers, Athena's multiplatform features were important-enabling both Windows and Macintosh computers to work together. Athena also provides the district with textbook management capabilities. Athena for Windows and Macintosh computers was first released in 1994. It provides circulation, searching (OPAC), cataloging, and related functions for school, public, and special libraries.
