Geac acquires ODIS

Library Systems Newsletter [February 1995]

Geac computer Corporation Ltd. has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire ODIS NV of Dilbeek, Belgium, ODIS BV of Eindhoven, Netherlands, and ODIS SARL of Paris, France. ODIS markets and supports VUBIS library automation software, developed in conjunction with and licensed by the Free University of Brussels and the Technical University of Eindhoven. ODIS has annual sales of more than $7 million.

VUBIS, with 25+ customers, is a menu-driven system with modules for acquisitions, serials control, cataloging, circulation, and OPAC. It runs on UNIX, VMS, VM, and DOS platforms. Languages supported are Dutch, French, German, and English.
