The Association of Research Libraries' Office of Management Services Systems and Procedures Exchange Center has announced the publication of SPEC Kit 191, Providing Public Services to Remote Users. The increasing demand for services to remote users of academic libraries is not limited to research institutions. This survey reports on the types of public services offered to remote-access users, the extent of services rendered, how the services are delivered, and how public services to remote-access patrons are managed. There is documentation on the policies of a number of libraries. The price of the 169-page publication is $40.00 ($25.00 to ARL members)
