Innovative signs large public library

Library Systems Newsletter [November 1998]

Until two years ago, Innovative Interfaces, Inc. was known primarily as a vendor of academic library systems. For the past two years, the company has actively sought to broaden its market to include public libraries. It has sold scores of systems to small and mid-sized libraries during that period, including 10 systems in the last nine months. It has now signed one of the largest public libraries in the U.S., the Minneapolis Public Library. MPL's Central Library and 14 branches hold more than 3.2 million items and subscribe to more than 3,000 periodicals. The libraries circulate approximately 3 million items each year.
