An electronic discussion list for science fiction

Library Systems Newsletter [November 1996]

SF-LIT, a Library of Congress-sponsored mail list devoted to the literature of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, 'is a forum for the discussion of the genre from a scholarly, research, and bibliographic point of view. While aimed specifically at librarians and researchers, the list attracts writers, genre fans, and others. It has been very popular in the libraries providing access to the Internet with patrons who have been alerted to the existence of the list.

To block intentionally offensive and irrelevant messages, SF-LIT is a moderated list; all postings are reviewed before being distributed.

Those interested in subscribing to SF-LIT should send the following message to listserv@loc.gov leaving the subject field blank: subscribe sf-lit yourfirstname yourlastname. A library may want to use a "house name," one not the name of a real person.
