PROVO, Utah; June 14, 1999. Ameritech Library Services (ALS) has promoted Margaret Fisher to vice president of customer operations. Fisher will be responsible for all customer operations activities in North America, which includes systems implementation, application support and systems support.
"Margaret is a strong addition to our executive team," said Lana Porter, president of ALS. "She's been employed with Ameritech Library Services since 1995 and has significantly improved our information services department by implementing new technology. Margaret is very familiar with our customers and committed to proactively working with them to meet their needs."
"I'm excited about the opportunity to work more closely with our customers," said Fisher. "I plan to focus on our customers' need for quality support and implementation services. During 1998, ALS invested in technology to improve our support infrastructure, including log express and a consolidated North American support office with expanded phone coverage. Now we can build on this infrastructure to enhance communication with our customers."
Fisher joined ALS in 1995 as the chief information officer. Under her leadership, the information services department successfully implemented several applications, including Vantive and PeopleSoft to be more efficient and provide better customer service. Prior to joining ALS, Fisher was the director of systems at Geneva Steel. She has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Brigham Young University.
