Dynix, Inc., has announced the availability of Data General AViiON as part of the platform offerings for potential Dynix customers. AViiON systems use the UNIX operating system. The first Dynix/Data General contract has already been signed. Shawnee Library System will migrate from a Data General-based system to Dynix software operating on the Data General AViiON computer.
All ProMark benchmarks have been completed for the 4000 series of AViiON, and dates have been set for the ProMark testing for the upper end offerings from Data General.
