Library Systems Newsletter [February 1990]

The American Society for Information Science (ASIS) will hold its 19th Annual Mid-Year Meeting, May 13-17, 1990, at the Bahia Mar Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The theme will be the power of the microcomputer in the information systems now evolving to meet the users' needs in the year 2000.

Among the topics to be addressed will be microcomputer and information systems management issues, workstation development, network development, distributed processing systems, microcomputer applications for information retrieval, new storage and distribution technologies.

The 53rd ASIS Annual Meeting, November 4-8, 1990, Toronto, Canada, will be held in cooperation with the Canadian Association for Information Science (CAIS). The focus of the ASIS meeting will be on the techniques, methods and technologies of how we will move from today to tomorrow. Topics will be organized under several broad headings, including research, application, standards, impacts policy, and education.
