Data Research Associates, Inc. (DRA) has announced further enhancements to the bulletin board capabilities of its ATLAS automated library system software. Bulletin board provides DRA users with a variety of capabilities, including electronic mail with staff at DRA and with other DRA accounts. The enhanced bulletin board now includes D-SIRE full-text data base search and retrieval capabilities for service logs. Using D-SIRE's Boolean and keyword search techniques, DRA customers can save time resolving software or documentation questions by reviewing resolutions to other DRA customers' service requests. The bulletin board data base includes both requests, which customers can search on program name, error code or similar keywords, and DnA's solutions to the service requests. The service augments existing bulletin board capabilities, including testing new software, posting and reading announcements of general interest to users, requesting software improvements, and entering service requests. The bulletin board is electronically located on DRANET, DnA' s information hearing network. Access is achieved either through TYMNET or via direct dialing.
