At the recent LITA Conference in Baltimore, Biblio-Techniques Library and Information System (BLIS), the WLN-based turnkey system, announced a number of recent developments, and a change of address.
The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) has signed a purchase agreement with Biblio-Techniques for an integrated data base for acquisitions, cataloging, authority control and circulation control for the UCSD libraries. The system, to be installed in early 1984, will operate on a Magnuson M80/42 CPU and it is planned to establish online interfaces to link BLIS with the University of California MELVYN system. The UCSD Libraries conducted a six month online evaluation of BLIS before making the final selection.
BLIS has also been selected by the Columbia University Libraries to implement a local online patron access catalog. A six month demonstration will begin early in 1984 and, pending the successful completion of this test and the availability of funds, a production version is planned for July. An online interface to RLIN is also planned. During the demonstration period information may be obtained by writing to:
Paul Peters, Assistant University Librarian for Systems, Columbia University Libraries, 535 W. 114th Street, New York, NY 10027.
The new address for Biblio-Techniques is:

The telephone number (206) 786-1111 is unchanged.
