Borrow a book, film or software from your library

Library Systems Newsletter [April 1983]

The American Software Publishing Company offers a novel approach for libraries wishing to support the needs of the increasing number of users who own personal computers. ASPS offers libraries a software package from which users can borrow software for use on their computers, much as they borrow reference materials, books, records, and movie films.

Known as the Freeloader 500 Software Library, the service comprises over 2,500 programs on diskettes for use on the Apple Computer.

The programs, all in the public domain, come in seven loose-leaf binders, each binder contains seven to ten diskettes recorded on both sides. Indexes to the programs are also included. The service covers seven subject categories: business and finance, utilities, graphics and sound, education, home, games, and adventures.

Libraries may purchase the complete collection or individual modules. The complete collection is offered for $500.00 and includes all seven binders. In addition, seven Freeloader 500 Source- books (paper copy source listings for programs) are included, one for each subject.

The subject modules may also be purchased individually. Individual binders of the software library are available for $75.00 each. Freeloader 500 Sourcebooks may also be purchased separately for $20.00 each. [Contact: American Software Publishing Company, P. 0. Box 57221, Washington, DC 20037.]
