Emeryville, California. 29 March 1999. Innovative Interfaces Inc., the leader in information technology for libraries, announced the resignation of Robert Walton, CFO and Executive Vice President, effective 31 July 1999. Walton will assume the position of VP of Business and Finance at the College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio.
According to Jerry Kline, CEO and President of Innovative, "Bob has been a major contributor to Innovative's success. In his seven years at the company, he was instrumental in helping us attain the position of leader in the industry. I understand his decision to pursue a career change, and I will miss him both professionally and personally. I know that he will bring to the College of Wooster the same dedication and talents we enjoyed."
Walton said, "Working at Innovative has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career. I was able to participate in helping launch the Millennium system - without a doubt the most highly-functional and sophisticated library automation system available. The people at Innovative are dedicated, service-oriented, and truly connected to libraries, and I will miss them. I am excited by the challenges that lie ahead of me, and I know that the success of Innovative will continue to grow in the years to come."
Walton joined Innovative in 1992, after having served as President at CLSI, Inc. He has also consulted with hundreds of libraries and served on the faculty of the University of Texas School of Library and Information Science.
Walton will continue in his role at Innovative until 31 July 1999, in order to help with a smooth transition.
