CARL Corporation Announces June Garcia New CEO: San Antonio Public Library Director to Join Company May 1

March 12, 1999 (Denver)--CARL Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of June Garcia as Chief Executive Officer. Garcia most recently served as Director of the San Antonio Public Library from 1993 to present.

Garcia brings over 20 years of experience in library administration, and is active in many professional associations. Garcia currently serves on the American Library Association Council, and is a past President of the Public Library Association. "Joining CARL gives me an opportunity to extend my contributions to the library community," Garcia said. "I have been impressed with the company's products, and I'm excited to be able to help libraries nationwide acquire software and services that will benefit their users."

June Garcia has served as Director of the San Antonio Public Library from January 1993 to the present. Prior to SAPL, Garcia was Library Extension Services Administrator at Phoenix Public Library. Garcia has served three terms on the American Library Association Council, and was President of the Public Library Association in 1991-1992. She has served on several Public Library Association committees, including the Conference Committee (Chair, 1996), the ReVision Committee (1995-1998), and the Goals, Guidelines and Standards Committee (1986- 1990; Chair, 1987-1990). Garcia holds degrees from Rutgers University and Douglass College in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
