Evanston, IL -- August 18, 1994 -- John Kolman, vice president of development for Ameritech Library Services, Academic Division, today announced the appointment of Sara Randall as academic market specialist. In her new role, Randall will ensure all current and future Ameritech library products meet the specific needs of the academic community.
Randall has contributed to product development for over five years. Her primary responsibility has been to focus on the functional requirements for the new client/server library management system. She has also been actively involved in the Z39.50 Implementers Group.
Prior to joining Ameritech Library Services, Randall was a systems librarian at Loyola University in Chicago, where she installed the first NOTIS Library Management System (LMS). Before Loyola, Randall worked at Amigos Bibliographic Council in Dallas, Texas, where she provided training and support for librarians using the OCLC network. Randall's experience also includes three years as a cataloger at Johns Hopkins Medical Library in Baltimore, Maryland. Randall earned her M.L.S. at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
