Notes:	This book gives a good assessment of the state of library automation systems in the mid-1980s, with considerable information of the historical developement up to that time. Tedd gives primarily a UK perspective, but also includes developments in the US.~Claremont College''s Total Library Sytem (p. 39 );~DOBIS/LIBIS (Dortmunder Bibliothekssystem), p. 40. DOBIS was jointly developed by IBM and University of Dortmund in West Germany; LIBIS is a complimentary package developed at Leuven University in Belgium. Libraries that use DOBIS in the mid-eighties include the National Library of Canada, Hamilton Public Library (Canada), Japanese Institute of Science and Technology, King Aaud Univeristy in Saudi Arabia, University of Cork in Ireland, and Austin Public Library. Author indicates that DOBIS at this time was deployed in about 40 libraries in 15 different countries.~European University Institute, p. 40.~ILS Integrated Library System, p. 40.
