2008, September 4 - Cham, Switzerland. The Swiss Association for Standardization (SNV) is the direct representative of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) in Switzerland and serves as a hub for numerous other national and international standardization networks. The SNV is an important bridge between standards experts and standards users. Bibliotheca RFID Library Systems became an official SNV member in September 2008 and can now take a direct and active role in the development of new national and international standards.
"We are now able to react to changes in existing standards and proposed new standards in a rapid and customer-oriented way. Moreover, we can be involved in the development of central standards for RFID application in libraries at an early stage," explains Bibliotheca's Stefan Beck. "Our involvement with the SNV is undoubtedly in the interests of librarians. In the context of the innovations we consistently pursue, it helps us ensure that our products and services are interoperable. We see the development of and adherence to norms and standards as a positive responsibility and as absolutely essential to guarantee fairness to our customers," remarks CTO Christian Camenzind.
