Bibliotheca stands for reliability

Press Release: Bibliotheca [April 5, 2010]

2010, April 5 - Brøndby, Denmark. After an unsuccessful RFID installation in 2008 by one of the world's largest RFID suppliers, Huddinge municipal library initiated a second tender which has been awarded to Axiell, with Bibliotheca A/S as the supplier. The project is worth two million Swedish crowns and involves fitting out the main library and five other branches. Installation work will start in the late summer of this year.

"The BiblioChip system has been running excellently for years at the Skogås branch: a highly beneficial and reliable performance record which definitely counted in Bibliotheca's favor in the current tender", explained Morten Berg of Axiell Scandinavia. Another advantage is Bibliotheca's wealth of experience in SIP2 interface configuration with the BOOK-IT library system, gained from numerous successful installations. The diverse range of modern performance features provided by self-check facilities, StaffStations, BiblioGate V and in particular BiblioWand - a portable device for stock maintenance - was also a clinching factor on this project. And Bibliotheca's service and support team is regarded as swift and professional, fully in line with current expectations.

94,000 people live in the municipality of Huddinge, 21,000 of whom are registered as active library patrons. With holdings of 246,000 media, 404,000 check-outs were recorded in 2008. In the future these can be independently carried out by patrons at the ten new self-check facilities.
