Westchester Academic Library Directors Organization (WALDO) has signed an agreement to work with Coherent Digital LLC, a new publishing company created with the mission to "tame wild content and make it useful." WALDO will offer its member libraries all of Coherent Digital's resources through special promotions—including Mindscape Commons and Policy Commons.
Rob Karen, Director of Procurement Services at WALDO, said, "For many years, we worked with Eileen Lawrence and the Coherent Digital editors and product developers at their previous company. They're known for the quality of their products and for raising the bar through their innovations. We're excited to be participating in the launch of their projects, which push the envelope of library tools further."
"WALDO has always been an important partner for us, and we're thrilled to continue working with the membership," said Eileen Lawrence, VP of Sales at Coherent Digital. "We've launched resources that support remote teaching and learning in exciting ways—including immersive and interactive video and VR, and massive directories that link to important hidden content. Our mission is to deliver rare and hard-to-find items that bring a lot of value to libraries and grab students' attention through new technologies."
Coherent's first projects are Policy Commons, delivering hard-to-find content from the world's think tanks and policy institutes, and Mindscape Commons, the largest online collection of immersive and interactive video and VR content in mental health. Memberships are available now. Information about Policy Commons, and Mindscape Commons is on the company's website.
