April 17, 2014 -- Book Systems, Inc., an innovative leader in providing library automation solutions, is pleased to announce that 2014 marks their 25th year in business.

Book Systems was founded in 1989 by Bill Jones and his son, Mark. Bill, who worked for more than 35 years as a librarian, was encouraged by a librarian in Montgomery, Alabama to create software for library management. "These 25 years have been both rewarding and challenging.

The many changes in library software have been astounding. It is delightful to work with developers who find innovative ways to make the changes happen. Book Systems has been blessed with minimal staff turnover. At least half of its employees have been with Book Systems more than 10 years. Additionally, the talented staff keeps abreast of the technological changes and implements changes that make the software effective with a personal touch," says Founder Bill Jones. Mr. Jones' daughter, Suzanne Burton, and her husband Scott, currently own and operate the company.

Since 1989, Book Systems has developed library automation solutions from MS-DOS programs to smart phone apps and cloud services. One of Book Systems' first products, Concourse, was created in 1995. Considered as their ‘legacy' product, Concourse is still developed, supported, and used by many people across the world. In 2004, Book Systems launched their web-based automation software, Atriuum, followed by their web-based asset management system, Booktracks, in 2008.

A special "Thank You" goes to all our customers for your loyalty, support, suggestions, and feedback for improving our products and services over the past 25 years. We will continue to include your suggestions because for us, it really is "all about you!"
