Lund, Sweden March 2, 2020 – Axiell, the leading supplier of software to the cultural sector, today announces a partnership with Demco, a leading library supplier in North America. The partnership is formed to introduce the groundbreaking library services platform Axiell Quria to the U.S market. The unique solution is designed for the modern public library and made its American debut at the Public Library Association Conference in Nashville (February 25–29), where representatives from Axiell and Demco will provided demos of its transformative capabilities.
"We are very glad for the partnership with Demco. Axiell Quria is ideal for US libraries that want to continue on their digital journey. The modern library services platform and discovery portal will help US public libraries manage their move from building and managing collections to actively promoting them as well as engaging with other cultural institutions," says Joel Sommerfeldt, CEO at Axiell. "Our experience from servicing the European, and mainly Scandinavian libraries, for 30 years is built into our offering and we look forward to seeing the impact that Quria will have on the U.S market. "
Library staff can access the cloud-based platform from any device and manage every aspect of the library from the same solution. A modern library must do more than manage the books to be relevant to its patrons. It needs a communication platform and full support for digital processes, which Quria provides for a library that wants to evolve its services. Physical and digital collections, e-media services, library events, patron communication, and more live together. This comprehensive solution makes daily work more efficient and leaves librarians more time to promote reading and learning, support information seekers, and create a welcoming space for patrons.
On the patron-facing side, Quria Discover offers a modern web presence under the library's brand, a powerful search engine that combs all website content and library assets at once, and user-generated ratings and written reviews to help patrons find content they'll enjoy.
"Demco has long been committed to evolving our solutions to fit the ever-changing needs of public libraries," said Sean Ryan, CEO of Wall Family Enterprise, Demco's parent company. "Through our initial conversations with some of the most forward-thinking libraries in the country, we're confident in Quria's ability to truly upend the technology status quo for our customers. We're excited to partner with Axiell to bring their next-generation library services platform to U.S. public libraries."
In January 2020, a group of directors from leading libraries had the opportunity to experience Quria firsthand. Their feedback was overwhelmingly positive, going so far as to say that the cutting-edge platform has the potential to reshape the library landscape in the U.S.
