Lund, Sweden August 26 2018 – Axiell, the leading vendor to cultural institutions in Europe, today announces it has won the Zug City and Cantonal Library in Switzerland as a customer for its public library software. After an evaluation project which lasted nearly a year, the city council of Zug decided in favour of Axiell Arena and Quria. The Library will use these solutions to present and manage its entire media inventory (physical and digital) and all other offerings and information via a single platform. With Axiell Quria, the customer will benefit from a platform which makes daily work routines more efficient. It completely revamps the way staff are guided by workflows and how catalogue search is performed, which therefore removes all barriers between physical and digital assets.
Pia Rutishauser, head of the Library in Zug, comments on the collaboration: "The critical factors for the decision in favour of Axiell were the cloud-based architecture, user-friendly interfaces and the future-oriented software. Compared to other products, they offer greater flexibility, numerous additional and innovative functionalities, a modern design and a better customer experience."
Quria enables the cost-efficient management of all services in the library through modern standards and simplified daily work routines. Its flexibility allows the library to deliver a comprehensive range of services more easily, giving staff more time to focus on core activities. Events management, management of the collection, digital assets and e-media are all streamlined within the modular, cloud-based platform. Just as importantly, the platform aids staff in proactive community outreach.
Jürgen Keck, Sales Director DACH at Axiell Germany, comments: "The Cantonal Library in Zug is a special customer for us. It's a model for the Swiss market and we very much look forward to the future partnership."
The Cantonal Library of Zug was already an Axiell customer and will be the first public library in Switzerland to implement both Arena and Quria solutions. Arena, the new patron-facing interface, will be implemented first and will initially be integrated to the LMS BIBDIA and offers customers an innovative website. It also adds information to the catalogue to enrich and add value to it. The new solutions are being introduced during 2019/2020.
