Consortium announces distribution deal with NAEYC

Press Release: Ingram Content Group [October 18, 2018]

October 17, 2018 -- Minneapolis, MN. Consortium Book Sales and Distribution, one of Ingram Content Group's distribution brands, announces a new publisher for the Fall 2018 season: National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC will begin distribution with Consortium on November 3, 2018.

"We are delighted to welcome NAEYC to the Consortium list. Their influential books for educators and parents serve a vital role in the early learning landscape, and complement our list of award-winning presses," said Julie Schaper, Vice President, Ingram Publisher Services–Consortium.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a professional membership organization that works to promote high-quality early learning for all young children, birth through age eight, by connecting early childhood practice, policy, and research. They advance a diverse, dynamic early childhood profession and support all who care for, educate, and work on behalf of young children.

Headquartered in Washington, DC, the association includes nearly 60,000 individual members of the early childhood community and more than fifty affiliates, all committed to delivering on the promise of high-quality early learning. Together, they work to achieve a collective vision: that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential.

For more than eighty years, NAEYC has been publishing high-quality, research-based books that provide the best possible resources to support effective teaching and learning for children. NAEYC's publishing program defines the core content for the early childhood field with peer-reviewed books such as Developmentally Appropriate Practice in Early Childhood Programs Serving Children Through Age 8; Anti-Bias Education for Young Children and Ourselves; and Ethics and the Early Educator.

NAEYC also publishes consumer friendly research to practice books such as Making and Tinkering with STEM: Solving Design Challenges with Young Children and Big Questions for Young Minds: Extending Children's Thinking, which take the research-based ideas in NAEYC's core texts and make them accessible to teachers and others interested in early education topics.

Key forthcoming titles include Serious Fun:

  • Guiding Play to Extend Children's Learning; Spotlight on Young Children: Advancing Equity and Embracing Diversity;
  • The Essentials: Developmentally Appropriate Technology Practice in the Classroom; and
  • Families + Educators
  • Building Great Relationships that Support Young Children.

NAEYC has a significant online and social media presence as well as two conferences; NAEYC's fall conference is the largest early childhood gathering in the world.
