Oakdale, Minnesota – September 26, 2018 – bibliotheca announced today that Matthew Bellamy will be transitioning from his role as Chief Commercial Officer to President Americas, where he will lead the bibliotheca organization in the United States, Canada, and Brazil, as well as the Partners business for Latin and South America.
Bellamy has been dedicated to the success of both public and academic libraries since 2004 when he began working for 3M Library Systems. When 3M Library Systems and bibliotheca merged in 2015, Bellamy became the Chief Commercial Officer, a global role dedicated to shaping both bibliotheca's solution portfolio and international expansion.
"With his in-depth knowledge of library technology and sincere passion for the work libraries do, Matthew is the ideal leader for bibliotheca Americas, positioned to help both current and new customers benefit from the innovative solutions bibliotheca brings to the market," says Simon Plankenhorn, Chief Executive Officer of bibliotheca.
As our customer base continues to grow and the innovative solutions we bring to market increase, we are also excited to expand our business development group, comprised of teams that are dedicated to helping existing customers choose the best technology solutions that enhance their staff productivity and library user experience.
As part of this expansion, Tom Henke joins bibliotheca as the Vice President of Sales North America and Partners America. Henke comes to bibliotheca from Blackboard, where he was Vice President of Sales & General Manager, leading significant customer growth. Prior to Blackboard, Henke served in executive leadership roles at IBM and Oracle.
Also, Gary Gillem recently joined bibliotheca as Inside Sales Manager, a new role created to lead our Customer Account Managers. With over 20 years of experience driving growth and helping meet customer needs, Gary is excited to join the team and will report to Henke.
"I believe that libraries are vital community resources. Our mission at bibliotheca is to ensure that libraries remain a relevant, integral part of the communities they serve, and this requires an on-going evolution of service. I am both honored and excited about the opportunity to shape the future of bibliotheca in the Americas by putting the needs and interests of our customers first," says Bellamy.
bibliotheca is dedicated to the development of solutions that help libraries connect with users in unique ways and provide engaging experiences, allowing them to continually evolve their library services for the changing needs of their communities. Their products are designed to provide a welcoming, intuitive and seamless environment for those that use the library – wherever they choose to use it – be that at home, on the move or within the library itself.
With over 30,000 libraries as part of their family, they have installed and continue to support more than 10,000 self-service units, 6,000 security systems and over 650 Automated Materials Handling (sorter) systems. In addition, the cloudLibrary digital platform powers eBook and eAudiobook lending at 3,000 libraries.
